How To Repair Your Commercial Asphalt

Keeping your commercial asphalt in good shape is important for businesses and the general public. Asphalt roads can be damaged by car accidents, weather, or poor maintenance. If you’re looking to save money and avoid a costly asphalt replacement project, here are some tips on how to repair your commercial asphalt.

Step 1: Remove Debris

The first step is to remove any debris that has fallen onto the asphalt. This will keep your asphalt repair from being compromised. Remove any dirt, gravel, or other obstacles from the asphalt. You may also want to sweep away small pieces of asphalt that have cracked off from the road. If you’re able to remove everything without damaging the asphalt further, it’s best to do so before making repairs.

Step 2: Patch Any Holes

If there are any holes in your asphalt, patch them with cold patch material. These are available at local hardware stores and are relatively inexpensive options for repairing minor cracks and holes in your commercial asphalt. Follow the instructions on the packaging of your cold patch material carefully and make sure you use enough of it to fill in holes completely.

Step 3: Fill In Cracks And Patches With Hot Patch Material

If you have a crack or hole larger than 1/2 inch wide, fill it with hot patch material instead of cold patch material. Hot patches can be purchased at local hardware stores as well and are more effective for filling in large cracks and holes than cold patches are. Just like with cold patches, make sure you follow the instructions carefully and use enough material to fill the crack or hole completely.

Step 4: Apply A Topcoat

The final step is to apply a topcoat to your asphalt. This will help protect the asphalt from further damage and make it look as good as new. This topcoat can be purchased at local hardware stores, or you may have some lying around in your garage that you can use.

You should perform these steps on small areas of cracked asphalt first before doing them on larger areas of damage. If you’re able to repair your commercial asphalt, it will save you a lot of money and time in the long run. Just remember, if the cracks or holes are too large for you to repair, call a professional for an asphalt replacement project instead.

The Urgency of Drug Crime Reform

A lot of people seem to think that drug laws are meant to protect them, but in spite of the fact that this is the case their main reason has more to do with earning money than anything else. It is important to note that the prison industrial complex is a big industry and it would only ever be able to function if people were in prison for extended durations so that the prison can extract value from their incarceration and earn revenue that would put some major companies to shame.

At the end of the day, sending people to prison for minor drug offenses is not something that contributes any kind of positivity to the world around us. We should focus on lowering prison population so that these people can be educated and given better opportunities in life. Another thing to bear in mind is that many prisons are starting to become incredibly overcrowded, and the types of conditions that these people are living in are truly inhumane since they often don’t have clean toilets or even basic amenities such as a fan in the sweltering heat or any type of heating when it’s frigid and cold outside.

Reforming drug laws can reduce the number of people in prison and it can break the system that has made incarceration a way of life for so many. These laws disproportionately impact people of color, and suffice it to say that that is by design. With so many previously vilified drugs starting to become legal, the people that served time for using these drugs should be given a free pass especially since they weren’t trying to hurt anyone in any way.
